37 Visa-Free Countries Kenyans Can Visit in 2026

Travelling abroad often begins with one important question: Do I need a visa? For many destinations, the answer depends on the passport you hold. If you're travelling with a Kenyan passport, the good news is that several countries allow you to enter without applying for a visa before your trip.

Visa-free travel simply means you don't have to go through the process of applying for a visa in advance. Instead, you can travel directly to your destination and be processed by immigration upon arrival. This doesn't mean you can travel without any requirements. Most countries will still expect you to have a passport that is valid for at least six months, proof of accommodation, a return or onward ticket, and enough money to support yourself during your stay. The final decision to admit a traveller always rests with the immigration officers at the border.

As of 2026, Kenyan passport holders can travel visa-free to 37 countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Oceania.

While these countries do not require Kenyans to obtain a visa before travelling, the amount of time you are allowed to stay varies from one destination to another. For example, South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Namibia, Benin, Malawi and several others generally allow stays of up to 90 days. Malaysia and Singapore allow stays of up to 30 days, while Barbados, Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda permit much longer visits of up to 180 days. Fiji allows stays of up to 120 days, and Rwanda allows Kenyan citizens to stay for up to 180 days. Before booking your trip, it's always a good idea to confirm the latest entry requirements because immigration policies can change without much notice.

It's also worth remembering that visa-free travel is different from visa on arrival or an electronic visa (eVisa). With visa-free travel, you don't have to apply for permission before leaving Kenya. You simply travel and present your documents at immigration. A visa on arrival, on the other hand, is issued after you land in the destination country, while an eVisa must be applied for and approved online before travelling.
